Compassionate Systems Leadership
Events and Workshops

We offer a variety of events and workshops to promote Compassionate Systems Leadership(CSL). Our Community of Practice includes grounding exercises and discussions on CSL tools. The Strengthening Early Years to Kindergarten Transition (SEY2KT) Community supports young children and families in transitioning to public school, which is now funded in 48 school districts. Our Going Deeper with Compassionate Systems Leadership program is a year-long course that enhances your leadership skills with a focus on equity and Indigenous perspectives. Join us and become part of the CSL community!

Community of Practice

All are welcome to join the Network’s monthly Community of Practice held on Zoom from 7 to 8 a.m. Pacific on the fourth Thursday of the month.  The sessions, hosted by the Core Team facilitators, begin with a grounding and check in practice followed by discussion of a CSL tool or practice and its application.  Participants come from across BC and you are encouraged to bring your own experience to the group.  No previous experience with CSL is required.

2024/25 dates are as follows:

Strengthening Early Years to Kindergarten Transition (SEY2KT) Compassionate System Leadership Community

SEY2KT brings together school district and community partners to nurture a system that best supports young children and their families to successfully transition to the public school system. The initiative is now funded in 48 school districts.

The SEY2KT Compassionate Systems Leadership Community meets monthly throughout the school year. There are two SEY2KT learning communities:

  1. Core Concepts of Compassionate Systems. These foundational sessions will run from 8:30am to 10:30am and provide a grounding in the core concepts of CSL tools and practices.
  2. Growing Capacity as a Compassionate Systems Leader. These sessions will run from 10:45am to 12:15pm and be designed to support those who are well grounded in the core concepts of CSL.

Sessions will be held at the following dates/times:

April 10, 2025
May 8th, 2025

Core Concepts will run from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Growing Capacity will run from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Going Deeper with Compassionate Systems Leadership

As we have delivered CSL sessions in school districts and communities around the province, we have learned of the interest of many of you to grow your practice and to increasingly lead this work within your organization. The BC Compassionate Systems Leadership Network has now decided to offer an “in BC” opportunity to do just that.

The year-long program continues to build on your learning, strengthening your capacity in self, relational and systems leadership. The sessions will focus on making compassionate systems “visible”, allowing you to apply the learning directly to your context. Equity-oriented lenses and Indigenous perspectives that strengthen CSL will also be nurtured.

The program will be facilitated by an experienced team of CSL practitioners.

Our collective vision:

  • Gain competence doing, modeling, and leading the work.
  • Feel inspired and inspire others.
  • Strengthen your personal practices.
  • Create a network for inquiring deeply into practice.
  • Develop sustainable compassionate systems practice province wide.
  • Cultivate equitable, diverse, inclusive and decolonial structures and practices.

Program includes:

  • In-person Launch Session at UBC in Fall 2025 (date to be announced).
  • Monthly Zoom sessions (90 mins).
  • Zoom Closing Session in Spring 2026 (date to be announced).
  • Program also includes four individual coaching sessions.
